The Northwest Asian Weekly Foundation is now taking applications for our second annual "Get an EducASIAN" program! This is a two week program designed to introduce students to:
Every day you will meet and interact with Asian Americans who are making a difference in their community. You will not only get to hear from some of these movers and shakers, you will even see some them in their natural habitat!
You will also have the opportunity to meet new friends from other schools. Together you will learn new things, see new places and have some fun, too.
The program will be held at the Asian Resource Center in the International District. You should have your own transportation to and from the ID or be able to get a ride from somebody. The sessions run Monday through Friday, 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided every day.
There are two sessions available:
There is room for 20 students in each session. Students will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested, please fill out the application form and mail it, along with a $25 refundable registration fee, to the Northwest Asian Weekly Foundation. The registration fee is refundable if you are not accepted for the program, or if your attendance in the program is 100%. There are no other fees or tuition.
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in each session. Every student in each session will be asked to write an essay. The scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:
